What is Get-Away Weekend?

It is a time for parents to get away, relax, laugh and support the student-athletes of Kenowa Hills.  Get-Away Weekend is the Kenowa Hills Athletic Boosters' largest annual fundraiser and has been held in Montpelier Ohio for the past 29 years.

Event Format

There are 300 tickets sold and every ticket is guaranteed a prize.  Almost all prizes are generously donated by our local businesses. 

Get-Away is a reverse raffle -- the longer you remain in the raffle the higher the value of your prize, as well as your excitement level! Last year's top prize was $20,000 cash.  The top 10 prizes were approximately $40,000 in combined value.

Here's a look at last year's schedule:

Friday 

5:00 - 10:00 PM:          Stop by the Hospitality Room for free snacks and beverages for you to enjoy

                                 Baggo/Corn Hole Tournament - Limited to the first 26 teams to sign up 

                                 DJ Music and Dancing

Saturday 

10:00 AM:                   Multiple 50/50 raffles

1:00 PM:                    The unlimited 60 foot long buffet opens for service and the open-beverage bar begins

2:00 - 6:00 PM:           The Get-Away Raffle begins as the first ticket is pulled!  Don't feel bad if your ticket gets pulled first
                                 because this winner receives a free Jacuzzi room for the next year's Get-Away.

                                 As the raffle continues you could win a case of Snack Pack Cheese Kurls all of the way up to the
                                 $20,000 cash prize or anything in between.

                                 At any given time during the raffle you have the option to auction off your ticket with 10% of the selling
                                 price going to the Boosters.  

                                 (Don't forget, the buffet and beverage bar are open the entire time of the raffle... and they're FREE!)

6:00 - ??? PM:             After the Raffle is done, the DJ comes back to play more music and the FUN continues...

This weekend is exciting, crazy, action-packed non-stop fun that you can experience with old and new friends while supporting our student-athletes at Kenowa Hills. This is a weekend that has to be experienced in order to really appreciate and understand it.                                           

2013 Get-Away Weekend Baggo Tournament

Even though this weekend is a time for adults to let their hair down and relax from the everyday grind of life and raising kids, it is also a very necessary fundraiser for the student-athletes of Kenowa Hills Public Schools. Without the financial rewards from this weekend your Kenowa Hills Athletic Boosters would not be able to show the support they have in the past and will continue to do so in the future.  The cost for our kids to play sports in school is ever rising. Uniform costs, team fees, tournament fees, sports equipment and the financial burden for some families to pay for they kids to play sports are ever-increasing. This is what makes the boosters' financial support to the school so necessary.  

So once again the success of this weekend is crucial for the student-athletes of Kenowa Hills because without it, some students might not be able to afford to play sports and the school's athletic teams would not have much of the equipment they currently have. So even if you cannot attend this incredible weekend, your financial support is the form of a prize donation such as cash, materials items, or gift cards is always welcomed and needed.
